Dominoes project kicks-off

Virtual Power Solutions was present at the Dominoes project kick-off meeting in Espoo, Finland. The goal of Dominoes is to enable the development of local energy markets through the creation of new demand management, aggregation and network management services.

The project will demonstrate how Distribution System Operators can dynamically and actively manage network balances in the near future, where more micro-networks, ultra-distributed generation and independent power communities will thrive.

Virtual Power Solutions is the technological partner and Portugal will host two of the three validation sites for this project results: a Distribution System Operators in Évora, a Virtual Power Plant related to bank branches nationwide, while the third place will be Lappeenranta in Finland, and will be a micro-grid.

Dominoes will develop over the next 3 years.
